Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez raised his batting average up to .305 with a 1.064 OPS by going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, one run scored, and one walk on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

His stellar season continues, as he’s now hit 21 home runs, a little over a quarter of the way through the season, with 42 RBI, 40 runs scored, and one stolen base. He is second in the Majors behind Kyle Schwarber in home runs, 10th in RBI, and 13th in average. His underlying data is off the charts, as he is ranked in the 100th percentile in xwOBA, xBA, and xSLG, 99th percentile in average exit velocity (94.7 mph), and 96th in hard-hit percentage (53.5 percent). He is currently on pace for 55 home runs and 107 RBI over a 162-game season, which is making him a steal of a draft pick given his ADP of the third round coming into the 2026 season. The only downside for Alvarez is that, aside from his production, the team has been struggling offensively due to injuries to some of their projected top-of-the-lineup hitters, including Carlos Correa (ankle) and Jose Altuve (oblique). Regardless, he remains an elite option for fantasy managers and is one game in the outfield away from gaining outfield eligibility with nine games played this season.
