Welcome back to another edition of the our Fantasy Baseball Weekly Edge Report, where we break down everything you need to know for the upcoming week of season-long fantasy baseball.
We're entering the final stretch of the fantasy regular season, which means every additional plate appearance and favorable matchup can make a difference. At this point in the season, managers should be looking beyond season-long talent and paying close attention to weekly schedules, playing time, and emerging opportunities created by the trade deadline.
As always, we'll cover the weekly schedule, weather outlook, teams to target, and waiver wire pickups to help you gain an edge.
🗺️ Schedule Breakdown
One of the easiest ways to create an advantage in weekly leagues is by simply getting more plate appearances. This week, we have eight teams slated to play seven games or more, with the Cardinals and Reds each scheduled to play eight games thanks to Monday's doubleheader.
👉 Remember: These teams give you max volume. That may not sound significant, but it represents roughly a 17% increase in opportunity compared to a six-game schedule.

🌦️Weather Notes
Summer weather continues to dominate the fantasy landscape, with warm temperatures expected across much of the country. That generally favors offense, as higher temperatures tend to help the ball carry and can turn routine fly balls into extra-base hits. Managers in weekly leagues should continue leaning into hitters when deciding between closely ranked options.
As always, scattered thunderstorms remain the biggest concern this time of year. Afternoon and evening storms can create delays or postponement risks throughout the Midwest and East Coast, while many West Coast games should enjoy much more stable conditions. Be sure to monitor forecasts later in the week before setting daily lineups, particularly if you're relying on fringe pitchers or streaming options.

🔥Top Stacks to Target
Here are a few teams that are in favorable spots for the upcoming week:
⚾ Cardinals (@ CIN, @ PHI)
The Cardinals immediately jump out because they have an eight-game week thanks to Monday's doubleheader against Cincinnati. That gives their everyday hitters an enormous volume advantage, and even with three games against Philadelphia later in the week, eight games is simply too much opportunity to ignore. If you're choosing between similarly ranked hitters, the extra game can be the tiebreaker.
⚾ Athletics (@ KC, @ HOU)
We also like the Athletics this week as they play seven games, including four against Kansas City before traveling to Houston for a three-game weekend series. The Royals series provides the most attractive portion of the schedule, and the combination of volume and favorable matchups makes Oakland an intriguing under-the-radar stack for fantasy managers looking for counting-stat upside.
⚾ Orioles (@TB, vs NYY, vs TB)
The Orioles are another team we want to target with seven games on the schedule. Baltimore benefits from six home games this week, giving their everyday hitters plenty of opportunities to accumulate runs, RBI, and power numbers. With the fantasy playoffs approaching, the combination of volume and established everyday roles makes Baltimore's lineup particularly appealing.
🎯Waiver Wire Targets
We always want to be aggressive on the waiver wire. Here are a few players/situations that we are keeping a close eye on:
⚾ Angel Genao, 5% owned, has immediately made an impact since joining Cleveland. The switch-hitting infielder carried a .309 average in Triple-A and has started his MLB career with seven hits in his first 19 at-bats. He also has multi-position eligibility and should continue receiving regular playing time, making him one of our favorite upside adds for managers looking for middle-infield help.
⚾ George Lombard Jr., 25% owned, remains one of the more exciting young hitters available in a significant number of leagues. He's already hit two home runs in just 17 at-bats and showed legitimate power in the minors. The Yankees should continue giving the highly touted prospect opportunities, and his combination of lineup quality and upside makes him worth an aggressive add in leagues where he's still available.
⚾ Kaelen Culpepper, 31% owned, another exciting young player worth adding, especially in leagues where he's still available. The former first-round pick was hitting .271 with 14 homers and 17 steals across 74 Triple-A games before his call-up, giving him a strong combination of power and speed that could translate quickly at the MLB level. Culpepper has already shown immediate impact with a home run in his debut, and his everyday opportunity makes him a high-upside add for the stretch run.
⚾ Shane Baz, 67% owned, is a strong waiver-wire target for fantasy managers looking for pitching help down the stretch. Despite some inconsistency, Baz has shown flashes of the upside that made him a highly regarded prospect and currently owns a respectable 3.76 ERA, giving him plenty of strikeout and ratio upside if he can continue to limit the damage.
*We still really like adding Christian Scott and Zac Thornton, but want to give you a new SP name to add this week.
⚾ Luke Weaver, 15% owned, is worth an add if you're looking for Saves. Weaver has experience closing games and could quickly find himself in the ninth-inning mix for a Pirates bullpen that has lacked a definitive closer, giving him legitimate upside down the stretch.

🧠 Final Thoughts
The fantasy baseball season is officially entering crunch time. At this point, managers can't afford to overlook schedule advantages, extra games, or emerging playing-time situations, especially with playoff spots and league titles often decided by a handful of counting stats.
This week, prioritize players on seven- and eight-game schedules, keep an eye on weather as lineups lock throughout the week, and continue being aggressive on the waiver wire. The Cardinals and Reds offer an enormous volume advantage with eight games, while teams like Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Chicago, and Oakland provide seven-game schedules to exploit.
