7 more innings of dominance, and it’s starting to feel more normal. Early in the season, it seemed as if Meyer was destined to be another 5-and-dive guy, with an inefficient pitch count. He’s now gone either 6 or 7 innings in his last 4 starts. The results haven‘t slowed down, either.
Season Line: 2.81 ERA 1.04 WHIP
Last 3 starts: 2.70 ERA 0.85 WHIP
I would go as far as saying that he can be trusted weekly for the rest of the season. Which is what we‘ve been hoping to see for years with Meyer. The slider is a dominant pitch. The sweeper is nasty. The fastball used to be a drag and now is a positive pitch, with added iVB and an improved movement profile. He’s arrived.
