Let’s talk about this weeks waiver wire.

Shallow Leagues:

Bryce Miller - Absolutely needs to be added in any and every league. You roster at least 1 pitcher who can be let go for someone with Top 20/25 upside.

Jared Jones - Same goes for Jones. Add him already. Top 25/30 upside, only because he hasn't shown us the Top-20 yet, but it’s coming.

Christian Scott - Not nearly the same level of obvious urgency as the first 2, but he’s looking great and has the pedigree to just take off. As with all of these arms returning from injuries, if you see anything good that first month back, you have to jump on them. Month 2 could be even better Once rust fully shakes off.

Bryce Eldridge - He’s got power on par with the most elite sluggers. If the playing time is indeed no longer an issue, then he’s only capped by his batting average. Which is hardly a reason to not roster someone. Murakami after all, had that same “concern.”

Colt Emerson - Elite pedigree and good results early on. That’s a recipe for a pickup I’ve ever seen one.

Tanner Scott - How is he still available in so many leagues? The Dodgers closer, and has elite ratios and numbers. What am I missing?

Troy Melton - I’m still waiting for the strikeouts just like all of you. And they won’t be great. But certainly better than what we’ve seen so far. As stated above with injury returners, look for the positives and add, expecting better is coming.

Jung Hoo Lee - I'm surprised to look up and see that he is hitting .324 on the season. It is rare to find such impacting batting average help off the wire, but he is available in many leagues still.

Medium Leagues:

Grant Taylor - Grant Taylor gets a Save and we all assume that he'll never look back again. Rinse and repeat. But....this could be the time. Worth an add, as he's got Top 5/10 Closer upside.

Carson Benge - He's had a year full of both cold and hot streaks but overall is reliable enough to be on more rosters.

Jacob Latz - An unheralded Closer on a solid enough team. A 0.62 WHIP on the year, that is hard to fake.

Brooks Lee - Keeps chugging along. Not a league winner, but certainly someone who is an adequate injury fill in, and backs up a lot of positions with his eligibility.

Dylan Crews - There's still plenty of appeal with the talent. When he will find consistency, I don't know.

Roki Sasaki - Yes, I know he’s looked awesome, and I am recommending him for pickup afterall. But I’d be cautious that this continues, considering the massive sample we have of it not working out. I’d sell high if I could though.

Spencer Horwitz - An OBP threat every game, he's become someone who can be counted on for consistent production, just without a ton of pop.

Royce Lewis - We're all still clinging to that small sample from 3 seasons ago. But it was legit at the time and could still be there. If he can stay healthy, and the Twins trust him enough to give him a long playing time window, there's a decent chance he becomes productive. He certainly was in the minors last month. And he has as much or more potential as a typical prospect callup would.

Joc Pederson - Hitting leadoff against RHP only, he's a flawed hitter. But when the power stroke is on fire, you gotta play him.

Lars Nootbaar - Just returned from a long injury. He's got some all around appeal, especially in leagues that count OBP in some way. He's been disappointing for awhile, but I think there's a small chance that he just is good right away, so I picked up and put him on my bench, just in case.

Noelvi Marte - I’m not entirely optimistic this time around. But I used to believe in the guy and he‘s worth a flier.

Deep Leagues:

Gage Jump - He's looking better lately, strikeouts with a higher whip, that's what I'm expecting.

Edwin Arroyo - I haven't loved what I've seen but he was great in the minors and is a solid enough prospect. Be prepared to drop if he has a prolonged cold streak.

Jack Perkins - A sliver of a chance on this one, but if it works out, he could be a solid pickup. Being stretched out to be a starter, it's going to be a few weeks at least.

Paul Goldschmidt - Playing everyday and hitting 3rd for the Yankees. He's been over an .800 OPS for like a month. You can absolutely do worse. He's more similar to Horwitz than he is getting credit for.

Nick Gonzales - He's just a solid hitter. Not spectacular, but sometimes that's all you need.

Kody Clemens - Also playing everyday and often hitting 3rd, he's had more power than I expected. With great eligibility.

Wilber Dotel - I would call him a short term pickup. But he's basically throwing 3 perfect innings everytime he pitches. I'd rather play him than a sketchy SP right now.

Dominic Canzone - He's been a Statcast darling all year. The playing time is looking decent enough recently. I would play him over a vanilla type of Middle Infielder, if you can swing that.

Colton Cowser - I'm encouraged by him finally waking up. The power has been good and the batting average as well for a few weeks. I'm not expecting it to continue, but he's got enough juice that he's worth rostering, just in case.

Jacob Gonzalez - He's looked good enough in limited AB's. Will the White Sox grant him more playing time though?

Michael Massey - Mostly a bad fantasy player, but he goes on stretched where he gets white hot and is worth rostering. Which guy do we get after we pick him up?

Joshua Baez - A stash candidate who keeps hitting homers in the minors and seems nearly ready. The return of Nootbaar complicates things though.

Karson Milbrandt - With Robby Snelling and Thomas White out for the year, he could be the next in line when the Marlins need to promote someone from the farm.
