On the season, May now owns an impressive 3.75 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 75 strikeouts in 81 2/3 innings pitched. While is 9.6% SwStr percentage isn't elite, he's been working deep into games and has seen his ERA dip month after month (5.28 in March and April, 3.86 in May, and 2.31 in June). His average fastball velocity has been significantly improved from his 2025 season (94.8 mph) to the 2026 season (96.8 mph), and he's demonstrated good control (6.6 percent walk rate) with a solid ground ball rate (45.5 percent).
