Bullpen Notes 6/15/26

WSN

Brad Lord pitched in the 5th, 6th, and 7th allowing a couple runs and picking up a win. He has been a solid bulk guy for them lately but has very little fantasy value. Beeter pitched the 8th against the middle of the lineup and Varland pitched the 9th. Beeter is the best option for saves but he is used as a fireman. He will pitch in the 7th, 8th and 9th they will call on him to face the best hitters or if they team is in a big spot. I still think they need a LHP pitcher late and that guy is Dicky Love who joins the other two to form a committee.

SDP

Mason Miller went of the Bereavement List. He will be out at least a couple games. I would expect Morejon or Adam to be the temporary closer. Both guys are probably already rostered but if not add them for maybe a save over this series. Morejon feels like the 1st option.

TEX

Taylor Rogers got out of the 5th and he ended up picking up a win. Andrew Morris pitched a perfect 6th getting a hold. Eric Orze pitched the 7th and got two outs in the 8th before allowing a single and getting pulled for Yoendrys Gomez. Gomez got a flyout to end the 8th and pitched a perfect 9th picking up the save. That is now two saves in a row for Gomez so maybe we are seeing him turn into the closer. I would still be wary as they have 11 different guys who have recorded a save this year.

DET

Full bullpen game here. Anderson started and he can be cut in most leagues. Finnegan picked up the win pitching a scoreless 5th inning. Vest pitched in the 7th and 8th. Kenley is the closer and Finnegan and Vest are the options for holds though I lean Finnegan.

COL

Weird game for the bullpen. They went with Antonio Senzatela in the 6th and he allowed a two out triple that put them down one. Bernardino and Hill got through the 7th with the team down. They took a 4-2 lead in the top of the 8th and turned to Victor Vodnik who had just returned from the IL. He didn't pitch well in his return getting two outs but giving up a run. Mejia came in and got a strikeout to end the inning. Mejia started the 9th and loaded the bases on two walks and a grounder that he threw away. After that they brought in Halvosen who couldn't throw strikes allowing a single that tied the game and a walk that ended it. The bullpen is terrible. I would expect Vodnik to return to the closers role and maybe Senzatela still sees the occasional bulk save. Mejia needs to be out of the 9th.

CHC

Maton came in with runners on in the 6th and he hit a batter before walking in the starters run. He was charged with a blown save. Webb gave up a run in the 7th but picked up a hold and Thielbar gave up two runs in the 8th getting charged with a blown save. Daniel Palencia didn't get the save but he did pitch the 9th and picked up the win. Palencia is the closer and we are all waiting for him to get hot and get some saves.

ARI

Jonathan Loáisiga pitched the 8th and picked up a hold. He might be making his way back up to higher leverage spots but I would still wait and see. Paul Sewald picked up save number 18 on the season and he has been one of the more surprising 9th inning guys this season.

ATH

Blowout here but Mason Barnett did end the game. He is a bulk guy so really no need to roster him. The battle between Harris and Alvarado will have to wait another night. Either guy could see the save chance.

LAD

Kyle Hurt picked up a win pitching the 7th. Nice to see him back in a bigger spot and pitching well. Klein and Vesia combined to get though the 8th and hold the one run lead. Tanner Scott had a good 9th inning and picked up the save. He is locked in as the closer and is hopefully past that rough stretch.
