The Speed & Table Setters
LAB REPORTS
The Speed & Table Setters
The All Star break is upon us, and for those who play in category based leagues, this is a great opportunity to take inventory and really dig into to target team needs. There are many under the radar Tersh players who can be added with the specific intention of boosting a particular category. Ideally, you'd like to add a player who contributes across the board, but those players tend to be rostered higher than 50%. Don't worry though, because we are going to find that Tersh that will help you climb the standings in as many categories as possible. Many of these names have been discussed in our trip around MLB's divisions, but this is a more pinpoint look at where these guys will help you the most. Let's boost some Runs and Steals!
The Dual-Threat Catalysts (Will score runs and swipe bags)
These are some of my favorite fantasy players. The table setters with speed, They are a nuisance for pitchers but a pleasure for fantasy managers...
Bryson Stott (50% Rostered on Yahoo) Has 37 Runs on the season but 19 have come in the last 30 days, where he has also hit .290. Averaged 0.68 runs/game in that time. Bats 6th primarily in a solid lineup. Has 17 steals on the season and had 24 last season.
Jake Mangum, OF (15% Rostered on Yahoo): Can't quite figure out why the roster percentage is so low. Has assumed the leadoff role in MLB's highest run scoring lineup since Konnor Griffin went down. Has an OBP of .364 and hits for average. Has 16 Runs in the past 30 days and 12 in the past two weeks. Has 18 Steals on the season and had 27 last season,so he runs. A boost in 3 categories.
Sam Antonacci, 2B,3B,OF (45% Rostered on Yahoo): I've been banging that drum for weeks now for whoever will listen. His roster percentage is insanely low for what he brings to the table. Has a .381 OBP, plays regularly, and mostly bats leadoff in a great offense. 48 Runs and 13 Steals in 261 ABs on the season, including 17 Runs in the past month. Has averaged 0.64 runs/game since his call-up in late April. Eligible at 2B, 3B, and OF. Has also started to hit for some power.
Cole Carrigg, OF (31% Rostered on Yahoo): Has averaged a ridiculous 0.74 runs/game on the season. 21 Runs in the past month including 12 in the past two weeks. Hits for average and gets on base. Plays baseball at Coors Field on MLB's 10th highest run scoring team and 5th highest scoring team in the past two weeks. Only has 2 Steals but took 30 without permission before being called up. He's been great.
A.J. Ewing, 2B (Yahoo), OF (35% Rostered on Yahoo): Took over the leadoff spot in the Mets lineup. Yahoo's 40th ranked player in the past month, including 15 Runs and a couple of bags. Stole 70 bases across three levels in the minors last year, so it's coming. Has hit over .300 in the last 30 days. Figuring it out quickly.
Caleb Durbin, 2B,3B (34% Rostered on Yahoo): Whatever the problem was when he moved to Boston, it's over now. He has been sooooo good in the past 30 days. He's hit .300 in that time with 18 Runs and 5 Steals. Has 10 Steals on the season and has run at every level. He's been a catalyst in the Sox turnaround the past few weeks.
The Runway Builders (Finding ways to cross home plate)

The Twins
They get their own category because they score runs and fantasy managers still don't want to believe it. They are 6th in MLB in runs scored and the following players are run scorers while remaining under 50% rostered...

Royce Lewis, 1B,3B (35% Rostered on Yahoo)
Ryan Jeffers, C (31% Rostered on Yahoo)
Trevor Larnach, OF (7% Rostered on Yahoo)
The Pilferers (Taking bags without permission)
- Nasim Nunez, 2B,SS (25% Rostered on Yahoo): Leads MLB with 34 Steals. Hitting .357 over the past month. Nats let their guys run, run, run!
- Esteury Ruiz, OF (2% Rostered on Yahoo): 20 Steals in less than 100 ABs. 24 Runs as well. Platoon bat who will win a category when in the lineup.
