LAB REPORTS
New Closer Ranks!!!
We enter the "2nd Half" and the next big point in the season is the trade deadline. It was a 4 day week so not much of a shake up.
Lab Ranks (#)🧪
Tier 1 - The Studs (7/21)
- Mason Miller (#1)
- Jhoan Duran (#2)
- Cade Smith (#6)
Short week but these guys remain the top options.
Tier 2 - Top of The Line (7/21)
4. Bryan Baker (#5)
5. Josh Hader (#3)
6. Raisel Iglesias (#12)
7. Aroldis Chapman (#13)
8. Louis Varland (#4)
9. Jacob Latz (#7)
10. David Bednar (#9)
11. Andrés Muñoz (#10)
12. Trevor Megill (#8)
I would love to move some of these guys up but no one in this group is doing anything to hurt their rank. Megill moves into the tier for his prolonged success.
Tier 3 The Mids (7/21)
- Riley O'Brien (#16)
- Paul Sewald (#14)
- Devin Williams (#15)
ROB and Sewald each had a little hiccup this week. Williams is back in the group after converting a save. With the deadline coming up the mids tier is pretty light.
Tier 4 The Single Sick Pups (7/21)
16. Emilio Pagán (#21)
17. Jacob Webb (#23)
18. Tyler Wells (#19)
19. Yoendrys Gomez (#24)
20. Pete Fairbanks (#17)
21. Kenley Jansen (#22)
22. Tanner Scott (#11)
23. Jordan Romano (#65)
Pete Fairbanks joins the group. Jansen is sparingly used. Scott is about to lose his job. Romano is still the closer. Pagán never sees chances and the other three get about 80% of the opps.
Tier 5 Two Man Sick Pup Groups (7/21)
24. Grant Taylor (#18)
24a. Sean Newcomb (#26)
25. Hogan Harris (#34)
25a. Mark Leiter Jr. (#77)
26. Alex Lange (#29)
26a. Daniel Lynch (#98)
27. Ryan Zeferjahn (#38)
27a. Kirby Yates (#28)
28. Mason Montgomery (#25)
28a. Gregory Soto (#30)
29. Erik Miller (#93)
29a. Keaton Winn (N/A)
Every time I cut this group down I end up bringing it back up the next week. Taylor is only here because he wasn't warming last night. The rest of the teams could fall into the swamp but they haven't been generating enough chances so I am putting them in the two man groups. Top option is my preferred choice.
Tier 6 The Swamp (7/21)
30. Clayton Beeter (#27)
30a. Tom Cosgrove (N/A)
30b. Justin Lawrence (N/A)
Down to just one though I'm sure the group will grow in the coming weeks. It should be Beeter but they use anyone.
