LAB REPORTS
New Closer Ranks!!!
I still like this list. The bottom three are causing me stress but the rest seem to have their roles defined.
Lab Ranks (#)🧪
Tier 1 - The Two Best (9/8)
- Mason Miller (#1)
- Bryan Baker (#5)
Still the class of the NL and AL though some concern with Baker.
Tier 2 - Pretty Much Studs (9/8)
3. Josh Hader (#3)
4. Jhoan Duran (#2)
5. Aroldis Chapman (#9)
6. Louis Varland (#4)
7. David Bednar (#7)
8. Cade Smith (#8)
9. Raisel Iglesias (#15)
10. Trevor Megill (#11)
11. Jacob Latz (#10)
12. Andrés Muñoz (#6)
ROB drops out but the rest of the group stays the same. These guys all keep putting up numbers and converting save chances. All of them should be rostered though Muñoz could be the next one to drop out.
Tier 3 The Mids (9/8)
13. Mason Montgomery (#12)
14. Emilio Pagán (#17)
15. Riley O'Brien (#18)
16. Yoendrys Gomez (#21)
Mason Montgomery keeps rising. This is as high as he is going to go but right now it looks like they found their guy for next year. ROB is back here due to his struggles and I dropped Scott out due to his inconsistent usage patterns. Pagán has also been very good.
Tier 4 The Single Sick Pups (9/8)
17. Tanner Scott (#13)
18. Ben Joyce (#14)
19. Jacob Webb (#19)
20. Kenley Jansen (#20)
21. Kodai Senga (#26)
22. Jordan Romano (#52)
23. Steven Cruz (#27)
24. Andrew Kittredge (#28)
25. Dylan Smith (#22)
Scott falls back here and despite his injury this week I still like Webb as the closer. I gave Romano a slight bump since he has been good and has little competition. I'm worried about Kitty after a tough week and Smith isn't great but the bullpen is worse than he is.
Tier 5 Two Man Sick Pup Groups (9/8)
26. Hogan Harris (#25)
26a. Elvis Alvarado (#47)
27. Calvin Faucher (#30)
27a. Michael Petersen (#37)
28. Grant Taylor (#16)
28a. Bryan Hudson (#31)
Each time I come close to eliminating this group it comes back stronger. Like normal I like the top guy better for the next two tiers. Harris looked great but opened the door last night. Fairbanks is expected back on Wednesday and will move into the Mids. The White Sox are rough but these two are the best options.
Tier 6 The Swamp (9/8)
29. Juan Morillo (#55)
29a. Brandyn Garcia (#23)
29b. Kevin Ginkel (#53)
29c. Justin Martinez (#34)
30. Clayton Beeter (#32)
30a. Erik Tolman (N/A)
30b. Yovanny Cruz (N/A)
ARI has turned into a mess with four guys seeing save chances. JMart is getting two days off between outings so he isn't seeing chances. The Nats are just a nightly dart throw. I think these three the top candidates but anyone in the bullpen could see a chance on any given night.
